Your Role in the Healing Process

Although we can facilitate and assist, your healing process is your own. The following guidelines will assist you with attaining optimum results:

  1. Confidence in your body’s ability to self-organize and change as you change.
  2. Trust in the healing process.
  3. Be willing to look at your triggers/feelings, find out what they mean, and know how they are guiding you into your best self.
  4. Choose to acknowledge limiting concepts and replace them with those that produce vibrant health. Be mindful of the way your body gives you feedback from the food and drink that you take in. Find an activity that you enjoy to move your body. Get restful sleep.
  5. Communicate honestly with Dr. Cox about any aspect of your care that you do not understand or that concerns you. If there are physical symptoms or feelings that arise during your healing process, bring them up.
  6. Educate yourself about your body and the healing process. Periodically, we will provide you with things to read. It is important that you read this information and ask questions about any aspect that you do not fully understand.
  7. Find a method of relaxation that works for you. Some possibilities are Yoga, meditation, deep breathing, walking in nature, artwork, etc. Take time daily (even if it's only for ten minutes) to still yourself.
  8. Comply with your treatment plan and healthcare schedule. This includes taking any prescribed herbs and supplements as well as any exercises.
